360-Degree Virtual Tours are sometimes referred to as Spherical Panoramas.  Each scene is called a panosphere.  Many panospheres are connected with navigation links to create a Virtual Tour.

The process of creating a 360-degree panosphere begins with capturing multiple images of the environment being viewed. Panorama images are images that are taken from multiple angles around what is called the Noddle point, Then carefully STITCHED together to form a single Equirectangular image.

Professional photographers utilize professional equipment while incorporation their photographic expertise and experience.  Perfection in, relates to perfection as the end result. 

Professional capture images with a DSLR camera and quality wide angle or FISHEYE lens.  This is done with a 360 rotator.  To create one 360 spherical image, a very precise process is followed.   Depending on the lens’ focal length and number of bracketed images, as few as 7 and as many as hundreds of prearranged sequential images are recorded.

Gigapixel 360 spheres for instance have an immense amount of detail allowing a user to zoom in over many miles to look inside a Livingroom window with amazing detail and clarity.

Most professional shares are created with 20 to 40 images per sphere.  Lighting conditions need to be considered for a successful panosphere.  The ART of shooting to capture these different conditions comes with photographic knowledge, experience and the ability to calculate and modify the shoot process to capture all highlights, shadows while keeping in mind how to facilitate different light temperatures in any one scene.
